I am not sure if this would be the correct name for the dish, but this is what we call it at home – ‘shrimpy scampi’ – an easy and fast (takes no longer than 20 min) pasta dish with black tiger shrimps, what’s not to like?

tasty indonesian soup: soto ayam
I was blessed enough to go to Bali over Christmas and New Years, where I got so inspired by the authentic Indonesian kitchen that I have tried to replicate MANY dishes ever since I came home. Somehow, the dishes don’t taste the same as when I was in Bali, but they still taste damn good. This recipe is for soto ayam, an aromatic Indonesian chicken soup.
cheesecake brownie (gluten-free)
Last weekend, my family was visiting – and seeing that celiac disease runs in my family, I was kind of forced to think out of the box and make food that didn’t contain any gluten. This was my first time baking gluten-free cake, and the cake turned out really well.
sambal oelek (indonesian chili sauce)
Here’s yet another Indonesian recipe – this time for Sambal Oelek, a spicy condiment, which is very simple and easy to make at home, also it can be kept in a jar refrigerated for future use…
spelt-otto
spicy peanut sauce
I have been a little silent here on the blog, as a result of exams and traveling. As of right now, I’m in wonderful Bali – where my tastebuds are constantly introduced to new flavors and spices. Yet again, this is a little spicy recipe with lots of flavors, and might be an idea to the new years eve menu 🙂 This peanut sauce goes really well with chicken satay, and is a favorite of mine…
ayam sisit – indonesian shredded chicken!
I haven’t shared this on the blog yet, but I’m actually part Indonesian – part Danish. I’ve mainly been brought up in Denmark, but have also been blessed to live in Bali for some time. I’m extremely fond of the Indonesian kitchen, as I love anything spicy, and this recipe is exactly that.
chili con carne
What a great and easy dish this is, which can be varied endlessly, depending on what ingredients you already have in the fridge and your time. My chili usually simmers for a couple of hours, as I’ve experienced that the dish only becomes better the longer it simmers.
broccoli salad
Broccoli salad with crisp bacon, crunchy walnuts, raisins, and sunflower seeds – goes well with any type of meat. This is a healthier version made on sour cream – however, the not-as-healthy version made on mayo is just as delicious.
